The grass is always greener, and I think this stitch ends up looking more complicated than it actually is! The way I think of it is you're stitching two leaves and a flower to plant your garden. You can work this stitch block either horizontally or vertically - though keep in mind that horizontally you have to offset your "flowers". This stitch is perfect for... uh... well grass, but also for any area with foliage or even weirdly as a nice texture for clothing/textiles!
